The Havelock area business was founded in 1970 when Donald Wenzl Sr. opened Wenzl Body Shop a few blocks from its current location. In 1981 Don Wenzl moved the shop to its current location.
Don started his metal career in 1952 while serving in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Metal Smith. In 1956 Don Left the Navy and attended Universal Trade School in Omaha. After school Don worked at various body shops in Lincoln as a technician and working his way up to Body Shop Manager until he opened Wenzl’s Body Shop. Marty started working with his Dad at Wenzl’s Body Shop as a teenager learning the trade hands on. Marty worked for his dad until Don sold the business in 1993 to a business group from Omaha. In 1996 Marty returned to Wenzl’s because “Wenzl’s Is Where His Heart Was!”
In 2013 Marty and his wife Kelli purchased the shop and changed the name to Wenzl’s Collision Center. Kelli has a background working as a claim’s adjuster for a large insurance carrier. Kelli recently retired from the insurance company and now helps Marty run the growing business. Both Marty and Kelli have many industry certifications on their resume. Son Logan works in the back as a technician. Come visit "Uncle Marty" at Wenzl's!
Marty brings over 30 years of experience in the auto body industry. Marty has worked as both a Technician and Estimator/Manager. He carries many industry certifications including: ASE, I-Car, Chief Frame training and Spies Hecker Refinishing Training.
Kelli has a background working as a claim adjuster for a large insurance carrier. Kelli recently retired from the insurance company and now helps husband Marty run the growing business. Kelli has been working in the auto body industry since and has many certifications in the industry.
